Link a goal to an investment
Connect investments to a goal so progress updates from linked Bank Account, Stocks, Mutual Funds, or Fixed Deposit value.
Last reviewed 2026-07-15
First read Goals if you are new to the concept — what a goal is, why it exists, and where it appears in the sidebar.
Then link investments so a goal’s progress comes from real tracked value — not a manual “saved so far” field.
Open the app as you go
Docs explain the flow — the Invesh app is where you click.
Before you start
- You understand what a goal is
- You are in the correct workspace
- You can update goals (Member and above — see Workspace roles)
- You already have at least one tracked investment (Bank Account, Stocks, Mutual Funds, or Fixed Deposit), or you will add one first
- You have a goal, or you will create one in the first step
Select investments to link
Open Goals
In the sidebar, open Goals.
Create or open a goal
Choose Create goal if needed (name, category, target amount, target date), then open the goal row to view its detail page.
Select investments
On the goal detail page, choose Link investments. Select one or more unlinked investments from the sheet, then confirm.
Linking the first investment auto-activates a Draft goal (it becomes Active). Goals with no links stay in Draft.
Review funding
Check the funding summary and contribution mix. Progress should reflect the linked values.
Move or unlink later
On the linked investments table:
- Move to another goal — reassign a link without unlinking first
- Unlink — stop counting that investment toward this goal
