Add a bank account snapshot
Record an available balance snapshot for a Bank Account tracker.
Last reviewed 2026-07-15
Bank Account tracking uses dated balance snapshots — not every debit and credit. Add a snapshot whenever you want the latest available balance on record.
Prerequisites: permission to create data, and a Bank Account account (nickname + bank name). See Add an investment account.
Open the app as you go
Field labels match the Add Balance Snapshots form in the Invesh app.
Open the bank dashboard
Go to Bank Account and select the account you want to update.
Start Add Snapshot
Choose Add Snapshot on the dashboard (or start from Artha’s assisted bank balance flow).
Enter balance
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Available balance | Yes | Spendable balance to record |
| As of | Yes | Stamped automatically when you save (not editable) |
| Note | No | Optional description |
Save when the fields look right. You can stage more than one snapshot row in the same form before saving.
You may add more than one snapshot for the same date. The latest snapshot for that account wins — ordered by date, then by when the row was created.
Verify
Confirm the balance hero and history table show the new row. The latest snapshot drives the Wealth Dashboard cash figure for that account. Banks do not use a separate “invested” metric.
Tips
- Update regularly so net worth stays accurate
- Track each real bank account as its own Invesh account
- First-time setup uses the Setup wizard for an opening snapshot right after you create the account
